This notebook is crazy! It has 8 different grid patterns to visually think through ideas. It took me some time to decide how to use this book and finally figured out what it would be perfect for while out on a hike. It is a great companion for the outdoors. It is rugged enough to work with garden planning, deck designs, hiking trail notes, and more. It also fits perfectly outside due to the way the designers made this to pay tribute to the amazing world we live in!

This notebook is part of a series of notebooks from Princeton Architectural Press called “Visual Thinkers”. This version is the Ecological edition and has a total of 160 pages including 16 pages of charts, facts, tables. The other 144 pages have a cycle of the 8 page layouts. The hardcover is sturdy and the pages are sewn into the binding creating an overall well made notebook.

The main issue I have with this notebook is that the page layouts are split up and are different for every page. I would have liked to have these grouped so that ideas could spread from page to page.

Overall, I would say this notebook fits well with anyone wanting to capture their ideas while outside. Camping trips, designing landscaping, and other times you are working on random projects, this book fits well in these ‘one-off’ categories.

I picked up this notebook from Jenni Bick Custom Journals for $16.95 to help support her shop during this rough time. She is running a discount of 15% off everything and you can find the code to use over at my Support a Maker page.
