Baronfig started making stationery products 7 years ago after launching a very successful Kickstarter campaign and they haven’t stopped designing some of the best notebooks, pens, pencils and case/packs. While they did have a short slowdown this year, as is to be expected, they have ramped up the production on some new, and unique products. The latest collection helps to invigorate your creative spirit, explore your own future, and organize the hell out your desk.
UPDATE: They are offering 20% off everything this weekend, Nov 27-29! Use code BF20 at checkout.
MOSAIC DESK ORGANIZER
I want to start with their new product category which is the desk organizer called the Mosaic Desk Organizer. This analog dock is a catch-all for all the pen and paper tools you use on a daily basis. I am a big believer that items that are out of sight, are out of mind…and will be forgotten. Any time I can display a notebook and pen together like the docks from Mike Dudek, I am much more likely to use them on a regular basis.
The dock is weighted to hold notebooks a phone, pens, and cards vertical without tipping over. I tried it with several heavy books, and notepads and they fit nicely without unbalancing the dock.
The three holes perfectly hold Squire pens, Squire Click pens, or Archer pencils. There is a slight lean to the archer pencils and really any of the wood-cased pencils I tested leaving the dock to look unbalanced.
GUARDIAN PRO CASE
Baronfig also added a new case style to their inventory which has been missing ever since they made the Confidant notebook in my opinion. The Guardian Pro case is slim yet functional to hold a pen, and a few other small, slim items. The pen holder is the most important part of this case as the BF pens do not come with a clip, and the notebooks don’t have pen loops. I will add that they have had the Leather Guardian case, but it only worked as a cover, and nothing more.
The low profile and lightweight design makes for a perfect fit in their style of backpacks.
While the case is perfect for BF items, it is made only for the Confidant size notebooks and will not accommodate larger size notebooks.
2021 PLANNER NOTEBOOK
If there was ever a year we all need to start, it is 2021. I suspect this will be a big year for planner sales to help us all move forward. I have been holding onto this planner for sometime trying to decide how best to utilize it, and rather than waiting for 2021, I am going to get started using it to organize my blog schedule and focus on being more consistent.
The layout is broken into three sections
Calendar layout
Weekly 2 page layouts
Dot-Grid notes layout with 12 perforated pages
SIMPLE OBSERVATIONS CONFIDANT
I am a firm believer in yearly themes. Skipping 2020 and moving into 2021, I am going to focus on Creativity. This notebook is a perfect tool to work on this and I has an element of fun that I haven’t allowed myself to buy in the past. This notebook makes me want to pick it up and essentially “play” with it.
The artist, Shantell Martin is the brain child behind the prompts as well as the cover illustration. Her style is new to me and after looking through her work, I instantly followed her. As wide ranging as her work is, the same can be said about all the random questions she added to the notebook. Like “What does the sun make you think of?” and “If you were a cartoon, what would your outfit be?”
Go check out her website and roll over the background to see what she has made :)
LETTERS TO THE FUTURE
One item that was just released is the “Letters to the Future” Confidant. After going back and forth putting this into my cart…I finally relented out of curiosity. The cover looks amazing, and the letters are an interesting concept. I have typically been bad at being able to look forward and plan so I am hoping this will help.
As confidence rises with a vaccine in sight, and with the history of evolution being an upward motion, I believe a positive outlook is necessary to a full and productive life.
DO WORK JOURNAL
One item that is not new to the line up, but new to my collection, is the Do Work Journal. This notebook is filled with goal oriented guidance and user-friendly layouts. I have added a few pictures below, but this notebook is going to need a more thorough review. The setup pages add some helpful advice, and the remaining book is set up to help achieve your goals and reflect on the progress. Similar to a bullet journal, except focused only on getting work done. I’ll add more about this gem in my next post.
Thanks for reading and please let me know if I missed anything!
Mike
