Is the best starter fountain pen, not a fountain pen?

This is about an interesting pen called the Yookers Eros Felt Tip Pen. I found this on a special deal at Goulet Pens and really like the ability to use some of the fountain pen ink I have sitting around. I picked up the Extra Fine and Fine tips (.8 and 1.0mm respectively)

Why it has taken me so long to discover Yookers’ felt tip pens, I have no idea. As a marker pen that can accept fountain pen ink, this should have been the first pen I ever used to get into fountain pens. This has almost all the good qualities, with a much easier writing angle.

Shown above with the cartridge converter, this is a simple design, but it has some great qualities in the hand. The magnetic cap has a satisfying click when you cap the pen, as well as if you post it to the end when writing. At 1.1 oz this pen has some heft to it! This Eros model is the more ‘professional’ look to it but Yookers makes a few lines that you should go check out at their site.

After using both the extra fine and fine, I highly recommend getting the Fine 1.0mm size. This allows the ink shading to show up better and has a much better flow than the smaller extra fine .8mm size.

This is the Thinkers Notebook that I wrote about recently here.

IN SUMMARY

These pens have been a new way to use my fountain pen ink and write just as well as a regular felt tip pen. They are a great addition! Yookers is running a promo right now with the code TRY2020 to get 25% off at their site, or they have them at a good price at Goulet Pens!
